LONDON (Alliance News) - E-sports company Gfinity PLC on Monday said it has secured a contract with the US's Microsoft Corp to host the Xbox European FIFA 16 Play Like a Legend Championship.
Gfinity also worked on the 2015 edition of the tournament, at which crowds watch those taking part play the popular football video game and compete for a total prize pool of USD29,000.
The event will be held at the Gfinity Arena in London between February and March 2016.
No financial details were disclosed.
"We are delighted to be asked for a second consecutive year to host the European FIFA Play Like a Legend Championship. This is a testament to our growing reputation of hosting highly successful eSports tournaments," said Neville Upton, Gfinity's chief executive.
Shares in Gfinity were untraded on Monday, having last traded at 17.50 pence.
