Gfinity To Deliver Online Platform For Inaugural ePremier League US

25th Feb 2020 09:57

(Alliance News) - Gfinity PLC on Tuesday said it has been appointed to operate the online qualifier and online playoffs for the ePremier League US.

The ePremier League US, delivered by NBC Sports and the Premier League, is a free-to-play tournament and the finals will be played in Philadelphia, US, in April.

The esports company said over a two-week period, from March 2 to March 15, competitors will battle through online qualification and online playoffs for a place in the final.

"This tournament builds on the success of the hugely popular ePremier League in the UK and we are pleased to be part of this inaugural event," explained Gfinity Chief Executive Graham Wallace.

"As the esports market continues to grow, we continue to focus on working with our clients to deliver unique and exciting events for gamers in countries all over the world," added Wallace.

AIM-listed Gfinity shares were trading 0.7% higher in London on Tuesday at 1.51 pence each.
