Gfinity Inks Production Deal For F1 Esports For Online Reality Show

7th Oct 2019 11:53

(Alliance News) - Gfinity PLC on Monday said it has been selected to produce four online reality television shows for F1 Esports, the professional gaming programme promoted by the Formula 1 motor racing series.

Under the terms of the deal, Gfinity will create ten-minute Making An Esports Champion shows that will be aired on various platforms ahead of F1 Esports championship races.

The shows will focus on the back stories of competitors participating in the F1 Esports New Balance Pro Series, which features ten teams racing in four live events.

The final event will take place on December 4, at Gfinity's venue in London, an arena dedicated to hosting esports.

Executive Chair Garry Cook said: "Being chosen as the content production partner for this show, in addition to designing, developing and creating the Pro Series, highlights Gfinity's unique position at the centre of the rapidly growing gaming community.

"Our production team's expertise in creating 'reason to care' content is unparalleled. We are committed to providing esports solutions for all of our clients' needs and we are delighted to be extending our relationship with F1 Esports to deliver this exciting project."

The latest contract comes fresh from the AIM-listed company on Thursday securing a deal to be the tournament operator of the ePremier League for the second year in a row.

The online gaming tournament sees UK-based players compete against each other on Electronic Arts Inc's FIFA video game.

Shares in Gfinity were 5.2% higher at 3.84 pence each in London on Monday morning.
