Gfinity Exceeds Online Viewing Target For Championship Series

13th Oct 2015 10:02

LONDON (Alliance News) - Gfinity PLC said Tuesday it has beat its target for online views of its 2015 Gfinity Championship series, recording 58.5 million online views.

The eSports business had been targeting 50 million views. The company conducts eSports tournaments - meaning competitions of popular video game titles such as 'Call of Duty' and 'StarCraft'. It held its inaugural Championship series of 23 weekly tournaments between March and September, primarily in its new arena in Fulham, London, with tournaments streamed on internet television channels.

"Gfinity has quickly become regarded as one of the leading providers of eSports content. We are very pleased to have exceeded our target of 50 million views for the series, demonstrating our ability to attract the best players and talent and stage top quality eSports events. We look forward to continuing our rapid growth, within the fast developing global eSports industry and delivering equally compelling content and events in the future," said Chief Executive Officer Neville Upton in a statement.

Shares in Gfinity were flat at 25.00 pence Tuesday morning.
