LONDON (Alliance News) - Oil services business GETECH Group PLC on Monday said the director general of the Sierra Leone Petroleum Directorate has declared an industry consultation period.
Timothy Kabba, who was appointed to the director general post in August, has commenced a six-month consultation process regarding the Fourth Sierra Leone Licensing Round.
"The offshore waters of Sierra Leone contain proven petroleum systems and the country's Fourth Licensing Round has generated significant levels of interest. This has led to a busy and wide-ranging dialogue with a variety of high-quality international oil & gas companies," said GETECH Chief Executive Jonathan Copus.
Kabba said that the Republic of Sierra Leone was committed to long-term investment through natural resource development, and to the creation of maximum value for investors and for the country.
Shares in GETECH were down 4.2% at 34.00 pence on Monday.
