LONDON (Alliance News) - Gemfields PLC Thursday said it has launched its latest marketing campaign focused around the rubies produced from the Montepuez mine in Mozambique.
The miner, which also operates the Kagem emerald mine in Zambia, plans to launch its global campaign using three short films, social media and a fully integrated print campaign. The films will be launched this autumn and then accompanied by additional marketing activity over the next 18 months, the company said.
Gemfields has conducted six ruby auctions since the middle of 2014 using product from Montepuez, generating overall revenue of USD195.1 million. The latest auction was held earlier this month, delivering an average realised price of USD29.21 per carat to generate a total of USD44.3 million.
Gemfields shares were trading up 1.3% to 39.0 pence per share on Thursday morning.
