Gattaca says entering new financial year with momentum as income rises

17th Aug 2026 12:56

(Alliance News) - Gattaca PLC on Monday said annual net fee income rose as it anticipates to deliver further improvements in pretax profit.

The Fareham, England-based recruitment agency said net fee income is expected to have risen by 11% to GBP43.2 million in the financial year ended July 31, from GBP38.8 million a year ago.

Contract net fee income climbed 16% on-year, helped by rising activity levels in the company's core sectors of infrastructure, defence, energy, mobility and digital technology.

Meanwhile, sales headcount fell 4% on-year at the financial year-end, but targeted recruitment activity in the fourth quarter rose by 3% during the quarter.

Gattaca said it expects to deliver further improvement in pretax profit in financial year 2027, while being mindful of prevailing macroeconomic uncertainty and cautious customer decision-making influencing hiring markets.

It added that it is "well positioned" amid resilient demand for specialist skills and services.

Chief Executive Officer Matthew Wragg said: "Through our focus on the elements within our control, we enter financial 2027 with good momentum. The group is developing strong market positions and is seeing the increased benefit of our tech stack, excellent staff engagement, healthy opportunity pipeline and robust balance sheet. As a result, we enter the new financial year with renewed optimism."

Gattaca shares were 0.9% lower at 168.00 pence each on Monday afternoon in London.
