29th Jul 2026 12:56

(Alliance News) - Frasers Group PLC has built a more than 4% stake in Burberry Group PLC, according to a regulatory filing late on Tuesday, adding the trench coat maker to its luxury holdings.

Frasers has a 4.2% stake in the company as of Monday, up from 3.0%, a position it had amassed on Friday, according to an earlier filing.

Sports, premium and luxury are Frasers Group's "pillars" under its 'Elevation' strategy, according to the Sports Direct and Flannels owner.

It also owns 37% of London-listed Mulberry Group PLC and is pursuing a buyout of Hugo Boss AG, in which it held a 25% stake as of December.

Burberry shares rose 2.5% to 1,168.50 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon, for a GBP4.22 billion market capitalisation. At current prices, the roughly 4% Frasers stake is worth some GBP176.0 million.

Frasers also owns a roughly 27% stake in boohoo Group PLC, which trades as Debenhams.

Frasers shares rose 1.6% to 811.05p each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
