Watkin Jones PLC - London-based student accommodation developer and manager - Hires Alan Giddins as non-executive director and chair designate, taking over from Grenville Turner as chair in October. Turner's retirement had been announced in April. Giddins currently is chair of transport infrastructure firm Hill & Smith Holdings PLC. Watkin Jones also hires Sarah Sergeant as chief financial officer-designate, starting on October 6 and taking over from Phil Byrom after a handover period. Sergeant currently is CFO for UK & Ireland at caterer Compass Group PLC.

Samuel Heath & Sons - Birmingham-based shower and bathroom accessory manufacturer - Sam Heath, the executive chair, dies on Friday last week. Deputy Chair Anthony Buttanshaw will step up to non-executive chair.

Amigo Holdings PLC - Bournemouth, England-based provider of guarantor loans - UK Financial Conduct Authority approves Mike Corcoran as Amigo's CFO and Michael Bartholomeusz as chair of risk committee. Corcoran was appointed as CFO in November 2020, and Bartholomeusz joined as a non-executive the same month. The UK High Court rejected Amigo's scheme to settle compensation claims in May after the FCA raised objections, saying it wasn't fair to customers in its current form.

Harvest Minerals Ltd - Arapua fertiliser project in Brazil - Hires Alex Penha as independent non-executive director, starting immediately. Harvest notes Penha has 16 years experience in capital markets focused on junior mining companies, including as CFO of Toronto-listed GK Resources Ltd.
