Eurasia Mining Receives Assay Results For Semenovsky Tailings Project

4th Jul 2016 08:00

LONDON (Alliance News) - Eurasia Mining PLC Monday said it has secured assay results from the metallurgical drilling programme carried out at the Semenovsky tailings project in Russia as the company moves closer toward planning activities for the processing plant and confirming grades.

The Russian-focused platinum group metal and gold miner, which is working alongside fellow London-listed Metal Tiger PLC, began carrying out the drill programme in late April and sent the samples to SGS Chita for assay and subsequent metallurgical analysis.

Eurasia said the testing programme is being conducted in three phases; Phase 1a, fire assay of samples; Phase 1b, bottle-roll cyanide-leach testing; and Phase 2, optimisation of leach variables.

The assay results returned for the 54 samples collected in phase 1a are in line with previous estimates, and the grades used previously in Eurasia's resource calculations.

Eurasia said the 54 results that have been returned have delivered an average grade of 1.16 grammes of gold per tonne of ore and 17.3 grammes of silver - in line with the company;s expectations.

Eurasia said the grades are high for tailings and provides a robust project for re-treatment and recovery of gold. Tailings are the materials left over after the process of separating a valued commodity from the ore has been completed.

"This work is a necessary step in planning the design of the processing plant, as well as confirming the grade of the tails and the reliability of previous workers sampling," said Eurasia.

Eurasia shares were trading up 0.5% to 0.553 pence per share on Monday morning whilst Metal Tiger shares were down 2.1% to 3.47 pence.
