Equiniti hires Mitie's Andrew Peeler to replace John Stier as CFO

22nd Jun 2021 11:15

(Alliance News) - Equiniti Group PLC on Tuesday said Mitie Group PLC executive Andrew Peeler will succeed John Stier as chief financial officer from August 1.

Peeler has been interim chief financial officer of Mitie since late 2019, the London-based financial administration firm said. He has previous executive experience with companies including Unilever PLC, Cadbury Schweppes, Premier Foods PLC, and is due to step down from Mitie on June 30.

The executive change comes after Equiniti accepted a takeover offer from New York-based private equity firm Siris Capital Group LLC last month. The offer is worth GBP673 million, or 180 pence per share.

Equiniti shares were trading down 0.3% at 181.40 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.

The company added: "We are very grateful to John for his dedication and commitment to the company, including during the IPO in 2015.

"He has worked tirelessly with the new CEO to simultaneously manage a detailed strategic review and the considerable work arising following the proposal from Siris to acquire the share capital of the group."
