eEnergy slips despite landing biggest EV charging deal with NHS

27th Oct 2025 16:25

(Alliance News) - eEnergy Group PLC on Monday said it has secured its biggest electric vehicle charging contract to date, after being selected by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust to deliver a large-scale charging rollout across the region.

The GBP333,000 project will see 48 EV chargers installed across 10 NHS sites, including hospitals, clinics, and administrative offices in Tenbury, Malvern, Kidderminster, and Bromsgrove. The installation will begin in November 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of January 2026.

Shares in eEnergy were, however, down 6.2% at 5.44 pence in London on Monday afternoon.

The contract rollout includes a mix of 7kW and 11kW chargers, serving both staff and public car parks. eEnergy said the project marks a major milestone in its partnership with the NHS and underscores its growing role in helping public sector organisations achieve their net-zero goals.

It is also the second major EV charging investment the trust has made with eEnergy, following a successful earlier phase.

The company said its team supported the trust in securing government funding for the expansion by conducting multiple site surveys and providing "investment-grade proposals" to support the application.

"This marks a further milestone for eEnergy and highlights the growing trust the NHS places in us to deliver high-quality, funded net zero infrastructure," said Chief Executive Officer Harvey Sinclair. "By extending existing EV infrastructure, we're helping the trust accelerate its sustainable transport strategy while making clean charging accessible for staff and visitors."

The company said the contract strengthens its position as a trusted EV charging partner for the NHS and wider public sector, as well as reinforcing its framework procurement strategy for public sector decarbonisation.
