Eden Research shares fall as loss widens, revenue falls

26th Aug 2026 13:54

(Alliance News) - Eden Research PLC shares dropped on Wednesday after the company reported a widened pretax loss and lower revenue for the 15 months until March.

Shares in the Oxfordshire, England-based biopesticide and biocontrol technology company fell 7.2% to trade at 2.18 pence on Wednesday afternoon in London.

The company reported pretax loss of GBP2.9 million for the 15 months ended March 31, down 32% compared to a GBP2.2 million loss in 2024.

Revenue for the period also fell 13% to GBP4.9 million from GBP4.3 million, while diluted earnings per share rose to 0.45 pence compared to 0.36 pence.

The company said expectations for the full year remain unchanged.

However, it mentioned the risk of unpredictable demand for fungicide Mevalone, which it said may falter due to the hot, dry conditions seen in Europe and the US, and for its bird repellent Ecovelex, whose sales may increase due to regulatory approvals or temporary authorisations.

Eden Research added that it was continuing negotiations with two lead candidates for its insecticide product and expects to sign an agreement by the end of 2026.
