Majestic Corp - recycler of precious and non-ferrous metals from used electronics and batteries - Hails "significant revenue growth and increased profits" in 2024. Pretax profit improves 1.9% to USD1.0 million from USD988,000, while revenue rises 67% to USD49.3 million from USD29.4 million. "The board remains confident in the group's position and prospects, viewing the future with a strong sense of optimism. We believe the group is well-positioned to sustain its success and continue building long-term value," it adds.

Steppe Cement Ltd - cement producer in Kazakhstan - Revenue in 2024 improves 7% to KZT39.83 billion from KZT37.28 billion. In dollar terms, it rises 4% to USD84.9 million. Pretax profit, however, slumps 99% to USD100,000 from USD5.4 million. "Electricity remains cheap by international standards, but 2024 saw prices rise 42% year-on-year, driven by regulation and grid distribution tariffs. Clinker production cost per tonne was therefore 16% higher than 2023, though consumable, repair and maintenance costs were kept within budget," Steppe says. "Administrative expenses of USD8.6million included a one-off cancellation of USD1.4 million in recoverable VAT. Excluding this charge, administrative expenses increased to USD7.2 million from USD7.1 million in 2023, in line with inflation and salary adjustments."

United Oil & Gas PLC - oil and gas company with exploration asset in Jamaica - Reports no revenue in 2024, no change from 2023. Pretax loss narrows to USD1.9 million from USD3.8 million. "2024 was a year of significant progress and resilience for United. While we began the year navigating a default notice in Egypt driven primarily by foreign exchange losses due to the geopolitical environment impacted by the war in the middle east. We resolved this constructively, recovering USD1.6 million from our receivables and bringing closure to this chapter," CEO Brian Larkin says.

Built Cybernetics PLC - London-based company focused on smart buildings - Pretax loss in six months to March 31 narrows to GBP142,000 from GBP1.5 million. Revenue improves 12% to GBP10.6 million from GBP9.5 million a year prior. "Our first half trading was substantially better than in the equivalent period last year, and that progress is continuing into the second half with significant positive contributions for the year as a whole expected from both the Smart Buildings and Architecture divisions," Chief Executive Nick Clark says. It expects stronger second half trading in both divisions. It adds: "We expect notable contract wins in both divisions, which in addition to their financial benefits are expected to highlight the Group's capabilities and aid further organic growth."

Zambeef Products PLC - Lusaka, Zambia-based cold food chain products producer and agribusiness - Pretax profit in six months to March 31 declines 23% to ZMW52.4 million from ZMW67.9 million. In dollar terms, it slumps 34% to USD1.9 million. Revenue rises 13% to ZMW3.84 billion from ZMW3.41 billion, though in dollar terms, it decreases 3.1% to USD139.7 million from USD144.1 million.

Ovoca Bio PLC - Dublin-based biopharmaceutical company - Pretax loss in 2024 narrows to nominal EUR3,000 from EUR5.1 million in 2023. Reports no revenue in either year. Administration expenses shrink to EUR658,000 from EUR1.9 million. It posts other gains of EUR655,000 swinging from loss of EUR3.2 million in 2023.
