EARNINGS AND TRADING: S-Ventures loss narrows; charge knocks Nuformix

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of earnings and trading updates by London-listed companies, issued on Tuesday and Wednesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

S-Ventures PLC - London-based investor in food technology and wellness - Pretax loss narrows to GBP515,000 in the six months to June 30 from GBP2.5 million a year prior, despite revenue falling to GBP8.0 million from GBP8.4 million. Bottom line benefits from drop in cost of sales to GBP3.2 million from GBP4.6 million and lower administrative expenses of GBP3.2 million down from GBP4.0 million. "Going forward, we have many opportunities for organic and acquisitive growth and expect to be able to expand further, once more operating cash flow is available for investment activity," company says.

Nuformix PLC - London-based developer of treatments for fibrosis and oncology - Pretax loss multiples to GBP3.6 million from GBP927,972 a year prior. Reflects GBP3.1 million charge for impairment of goodwill compared with nil a year ago. Revenue is zero unchanged. Notes future fundraising will be required in order to provide sufficient time to conclude business development discussions in respect of NXP002. Explains the strategy of the group is to optimise value from NXP002, its lead asset, while maintaining tight control of costs.

Idox PLC - Woking, Surrey-based information management software and geospatial data solutions company - Pretax profit climbs 3.8% to GBP8.1 million in the year ending October 31 from GBP7.8 million a year prior. Revenue jumps 20% to GBP87.6 million from GBP73.3 million with recurring revenue up 20% to GBP54.5 million from GBP45.5 million. Diluted EPS decreases 6.5% to 1.15 pence from 1.23p. Declares 0.7p per share final dividend, up 17% from 0.6p on-year. Highlights record full year order intake up 23% to GBP102 million from a year ago, reflecting "high-quality customer base and providing good visibility into [financial 2025]." Chief Executive David Meaden says: "The group's longer-term outlook remains positive and gives the board confidence in Idox's continued ability to deliver profitable managed growth and sustainable cash generation, and in turn significant ongoing shareholder returns."

Tertiary Minerals PLC - mineral development company focused on deposits in the US, Zambia and northern Europe - Pretax loss little changed at GBP550,934 in the year to September 30 from GBP541,341 a year prior. Revenue falls to GBP162,658 from GBP181,429, administration costs rise to GBP670,118 from GBP572,604. 2023 results were hit by GBP111,691 impairment of deferred exploration expenditure. Anticipates a continuing high level of activity in both Zambia and Nevada with drilling already planned on a number of projects and with further joint venture interest being shown in its 100% controlled projects.

Diaceutics PLC - Belfast-based provider of diagnostic commercialisation services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies - Expects adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation for the year to December to be marginally ahead of analyst consensus estimates of GBP2.8 million. Says revenue grew 36% to GBP32.2 million from GBP23.7 million on-year, or by 39% at constant currency. Annual recurring revenue increases 23% to GBP16.8 million from GBP13.7 million with recurring revenues in 2024 being around 55% of total revenue in the year, rising from 52% in 2023.

Eleco PLC - London-based software provider focused on the construction and built environment sectors - Expects revenue to rise 16% to GBP32.4 million in the year to December from GBP28.0 million a year prior, or by 17% in constant currency. Estimates organic growth was 9%, excluding acquisition effects. Annualised recurring revenue rises 18% to GBP26.6 million from GBP22.6 million a year ago. Remains debt free.

Sylvania Platinum Ltd - platinum group metals producer with assets in South Africa - Group earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation more than double to USD6.7 million in the three months to December 31, the second quarter of the financial year, from USD3.3 million in the prior quarter while revenue jumps 17% to USD25.7 million from USD21.9 million. Says Thaba joint venture project is on schedule to commence first production in the second half of the financial year, with all phases of construction progressing well. Maintains annual production target of 73,000 to 76,000 ounces for the financial year.

Personal Group Holdings PLC - Milton Keynes-based employee benefits and services provider - Revenue from continuing operations rises to GBP43.8 million in the year to December 31 from GBP38.6 million in 2023, with around 90% deriving from recurring revenue sources. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation from continuing operations climb to GBP9.9 million from GBP7.8 million, ahead of market expectations. Explains continued growth in recurring revenues, providing good visibility into 2025. Highlights record new insurance sales of GBP13.9 million, up 18% from GBP11.8 million. " We remain positive our 2030 aspirations of delivering revenue in excess of GBP100 million, Ebitda of GBP30 million, and [software as a service] ARR of at least GBP20 million, are achievable, and we have entered the new year very much on the front foot, with increasing confidence in the group's prospects," company says.

Asia Strategic Holdings Ltd - London-based developer and operator of consumer businesses in emerging Asia - Pretax loss balloons to USD10.7 million in the year to September 30 from USD5.3 million a year prior. Revenue increases 23% to USD29.7 million from GBP24.1 million. But bottom line suffers from USD4.6 million impairment of goodwill at Wall Street English Vietnam, compared to nil a year ago. Reports positive operating cash flow of USD3.9 million compared to USD3.7 million as a result of further increases in advance payments in the Education division.
