DP Poland focused on franchising after summer slump, plans app launch

14th Oct 2026 11:41

(Alliance News) - DP Poland PLC on Wednesday said trading in the first nine months of 2026 had tracked in line with expectations, and that it was making headway on strategic goals.

The operator of Domino's Pizza restaurants across Poland and Croatia reported that, in the third quarter, the company focused on its "shift to a more franchise-oriented business".

System sales in Poland decreased to PLN76.8 million, or EUR17.6 million, in the third quarter from PLN80.6 million in the second quarter, but were up 10% compared with the third quarter of 2025. On a like-for-like basis, system sales fell to PLN66.0 million from PLN69.5 million on-quarter, but were up 0.6% on-year.

In Croatia, system sales were down to EUR1.2 million from EUR1.4 million on-quarter, but up 35% on-year. LfL, Croatia sales fell to EUR900,000 from EUR1.0 million the previous quarter, and dropped 1.7% from the previous year.

It converted four more corporate stores, and opened one new franchised store during the quarter, taking the total number of franchised stores to 58, which represents 42% of the company's overall footprint.

"We also refined the Pizzeria 105 conversion approach and developed the operating platform needed for scalable growth," DP Poland Chief Executive Lukasz Ostrowski said.

On a less positive note, Ostrowski described Polish trading as "subdued" in July and August, although like-for-like sales returned to growth in September, partly offsetting the summer slowdown.

"Our priorities are to sharpen the relevance of our offer, build a stronger carry-out channel and generate more profitable orders per store," Ostrowski explained on Wednesday.

"Lessons from the conversions completed to date are helping us make the Pizzeria 105 proposition more practical for partners and accelerate the move towards a predominantly franchised network."

DP Poland is pushing ahead with sales of corporate stores, in order to reduce the number of partners reliant on vendor funding, whilst looking to raise the proportion of cash transactions.

The company ended the third quarter in a "stable" cash position. Ostrowski added: "With tight control of liquidity, a larger franchised estate and further operational improvements, we believe the group is well positioned to create durable value for shareholders."

DP Poland plans to roll out a new app in the fourth quarter which it sees streamlining the order process for customers.

The company added: "The combination of network growth, a rising franchise contribution, operational actions and disciplined liquidity management underpins the board’s expectation that FY 2026 trading will be in line with current market expectations."

DP Poland shares were down 0.1% to 6.14 pence each late Wednesday morning in London, having slid 21% over the past year.
