Conroy Gold Confirms Wide Gold Zones At Clay Lake

22nd May 2014 08:48

LONDON (Alliance News) - Conroy Gold and Natural Resources PLC Thursday said that further trenching has confirmed wide mineralised gold zones at its Clay Lake gold project in County Armagh, Northern Ireland.

The mining exploration and development company said that assay results from further channel sampling at trenches on the site include a 5 metre space at 3.02 grams per tonne of gold in one trench and an overall total in all trenches of 108 metres of gold mineralisation at an average grade of 0.58 grams per tonne of gold.

The company had announced earlier this month that trenching had initially showed wide mineralised zones at the site, the new results have shown that the zones extend to depths of over 100 metres.

Conroy Gold said results also included a 22 metre space at 1.01 grams per tonne of gold within a 38 metre space at 0.68 grams per tonne of gold.

The company said the results are a further indication of the potential of the Clay Lake Gold Target for high tonnage and overall gold content.

Conroy Gold shares were down 6.3% to 1.50 pence, putting it in the top AIM ALL-Share fallers during early trading in Thursday.
