(Alliance News) - Conroy Gold & Natural Resources PLC on Wednesday said testing in Ireland has found "potentially significant" gold mineralisation between two deposits, suggesting a possible continuous mineralised zone.
Testing took place north of Conroy's Contribet gold deposit and a nearby gold occurrence at Corcaskea.
A channel sample which extended over 90 centimetres returned 3.1 grammes of gold per tonne of ore, while prospecting upstream found a boulder which had assay results of 3.9 grammes of gold per tonne of ore and 23% antimony.
Chair Richard Conroy said: "The demonstration of gold mineralisation between the Clontibret deposit and Corcaskea is potentially significant as it suggests that there may be a continuous mineralised zone and adds further evidence to support the 8.8 million ounce gold exploration target. If the antimony in the area proves to be of an economic scale this would be a bonus."
Shares in Conroy were up 1.3% at 4.76 pence in London on Wednesday afternoon.
