Close Asset Management Expands Empresaria Stake To 10.5% Amid Results (ALLISS)

LONDON (Alliance News) - Empresaria Group PLC said Thursday that Close Asset Management Ltd built a 10.5% stake in the recruitment firm after a transaction on Wednesday.

Close held 5.1 million shares in Empresaria after buying 1.1 million shares in the firm. With 49.0 million total shares outstanding, Close's enlarged holding is equivalent to a 10.5% stake.

Close held 4.0 million shares prior to the transaction, equivalent to an 8.2% stake.

The purchase came the same day Empresaria announced it had experienced "another year of record results" with a modest rise in profits for 2017 amid a significant rise in revenue.

Empresaria recorded a pretax profit of GBP8.1 million for 2017, up 2.5% from GBP7.9 million the prior year. Revenue, however, soared 32% to GBP357.1 million from GBP270.4 million.

Shares in Empresaria were 1.7% lower at 88.00 pence on Thursday.
