(Alliance News) - CleanTech Lithium PLC on Tuesday said the Chilean government has extended a license application deadline related to the company's Laguna Verde project.
The London-based lithium exploration company focused on Chile has until January 31 to apply for a special lithium operating license. The Chile Government Mining Ministry updated the deadline after announcing it will consider private company applications for six other projects.
CleanTech Lithium expects to submit in early January, and will announce this in due course, it said.
The company was "encouraged" by the application's progress, highlighting the document itself as an overview of data collected at Laguna Verde over the last four years.
CleanTech Lithium added that it was in a good position "to enter into direct discussions with the Ministry and avoid the need for any subsequent public tender process."
This comes amid preparation for the company's proposed dual listing on the Australian Securities Exchange. CleanTech Lithium is currently listed in London, where its shares traded up 2.9% at 17.50 pence each on Tuesday morning.
The company amended its half-year results following an independent audit required in support of the listing proposal. Loan notes announced on July 1 are now considered part of the firm's liability, it said, and will be amortised to the income statement over the notes' lifetime.
CleanTech Lithium updated loan note liability to GBP1.5 million in the six months to June 30, as opposed to the GBP2.1 million reported in October. Operating loss for the period was amended to GBP2.1 million, rather than GBP2.8 million.
