Ceres Power spins out battery technology company RFC Power

26th Aug 2026 11:32

(Alliance News) - Ceres Power Holdings PLC on Wednesday announced a change in its ownership of RFC Power, which has been rebranded Certain Energy.

The Horsham, England-based clean energy technology developer said RFC Power had raised GBP10 million in a series A funding round, led by the British Business Bank and with participation from Centrica PLC, Ceres and Temasek Trust's Catalytic Capital for Climate & Health.

Ceres said its cash contribution was GBP1 million plus the provision of engineering services in exchange for an additional GBP1.5 million equity issue.

After the completion of the fundraise, Ceres will still own approximately 37% of RFC Power, which is now called Certain Energy.

Ceres originally acquired RFC Power, a rechargeable battery technology company, in September 2025.

Ceres shares were down 0.2% at 410.19 pence on Wednesday morning in London.
