Burford Capital Senior Executives To Sell Part Stake (ALLISS)

20th Mar 2018 17:29

LONDON (Alliance News) - Burford Capital Ltd on Tuesday said that Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bogart and Chief Investment Officer Jonathan Molot intend to sell up to 4.4 and 4.3 million shares in the company, respectively, to "create some liquidity".

The sale of the shares sum up to one third of their holdings, in aggregate representing approximately 4.2% of the company's issued share capital. The placing shares are offered via an accelerated bookbuild process. Numis Securities Ltd and Berenberg, Gossler & Co KG, London branch, are acting as joint bookrunners.

"Jon and I have not sold a single share of stock in the more than eight years we have been running Burford, and it is with some reluctance that we are selling some now given our enthusiasm for the future of the business. However, given that we preach the benefit of a diversified portfolio strategy for Burford, it seemed imprudent for us not to create some liquidity after all this time, although we are continuing to hold a considerable majority of our stock even after this sale," Bogart said.

Shares in Burford closed at 1,518.77 pence on Tuesday.
