BAE Systems Hires Spirax-Sarco CEO Anderson As Non-Executive Director

(Alliance News) - BAE Systems PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed Nick Anderson as a non-executive director from November 1, replacing Nick Rose who will retire December 31.

Rose joined the FTSE 100-listed defence, security and aerospace company in 2010, with the firm announcing his intention to retire at the of 2019. However, he agreed to extend his term to the end of 2020.

New addition Anderson is currently chief executive of FTSE 100 thermal energy management company Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC. Prior to joining Spirax-Sarco in 2011, he was vice-president of John Crane Asia Pacific, part of FTSE 100-listed engineering business Smiths Group PLC.

"I'm delighted that Nick Anderson has agreed to join the BAE Systems board. He has an excellent record in leading and growing global businesses. His knowledge and experience, particularly in leading international engineering and manufacturing operations, will be a great asset," said BAE Chair Roger Carr.

Shares in BAE were 2.4% down at 467.80 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
