Asiamet Gets "Highly Promising" Drilling Results At Beruan Kanan South

16th Nov 2015 08:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - Asiamet Resources Ltd on Monday said it had seen "highly promising results" from drilling at its Beruan Kanan South prospect in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, which intersected shallow high-grade copper mineralisation.

In total four holes were completed in the drilling, with results confirming high-grade copper mineralisation in two of the four holes. As seen at its nearby Beruan Kanan Main deposit, strong covellite copper mineralisation occurs near the surface, Asiamet said, with chalcopyrite deeper in the system.

"With receipt of these highly promising results from wide spaced scout drilling at BKS, Asiamet has met its objectives for the current program. The combination of solid first pass drill results associated with widespread copper in soils and some very high-grade copper rock chip results clearly demonstrates excellent potential for adding further tonnages of higher-grade copper mineralization close to the BKM deposit," said Asia Chief Executive Officer Tony Manini in a statement.

Shares in Asiamet were down 2.9% at 1.36 pence Monday.
