(Alliance News) - Amazon.com Inc on Tuesday announced an expanded collaboration with Newcastle, England-based enterprise accounting software firm Sage Group PLC to accelerate the adoption of agentic artificial intelligence across small and mid‑sized businesses.
The Bellevue, Washington-based e-commerce and cloud technology company said the move deepens Sage's strategic relationship with Amazon Web Services, the cloud computing services arm of Amazon.
The companies said the expansion will make it easier for businesses to adopt AI‑powered financial management tools, migrate legacy systems to the cloud and access new solutions through AWS Marketplace.
AWS Chief Marketing Officer Julia White said: "Small and mid-sized businesses shouldn't have to choose between powerful technology and simplicity. Working with AWS to innovate for the AI era, Sage is building intelligent agents that customers can discover and deploy directly in AWS Marketplace, so growing businesses can move faster from day one."
The collaboration will focus on expanding innovation and go‑to‑market initiatives for Sage's AI‑enabled financial software, introducing Sage Developer Solutions on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, improving technology integration to remove barriers to AI adoption, and accelerating the migration of Sage's desktop franchises to AWS cloud infrastructure.
"AI presents a massive opportunity for small and mid-sized businesses. But they need AI they can trust, with the right support, tools and infrastructure to adopt it. This is what makes our collaboration with AWS so powerful. We're making it easier and faster for our customers to have greater access to trusted intelligence, built into the way they run their business," added Sage Chief Executive Officer Steve Hare.
Shares in Amazon closed down 0.5% at USD259.70 in New York on Tuesday before falling marginally after hours, while Sage shares ended 1.5% lower at 890.40 pence in London.
