(Alliance News) - Amaroq Ltd on Tuesday said it reached its gold production goal three months earlier than expected and noted its imminent inclusion in the FTSE 250 Index.
Shares in the Greenland-focused mining company rose 5.3% to 123.75 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
Gold production from the Nalunaq mine in southern Greenland was around 12,000 ounces in the third quarter and 21,000 ounces in the nine months to September 30.
Chief Executive Officer Eldur Olafsson said: "Achieving our goal of 12,000 ounces of gold production, originally guided for the fourth quarter of 2026, a quarter earlier, is a testament to the work and effort our teams have put in place and the quality of the resource base at Nalunaq."
Amaroq said it was confident it would meet its annual gold production expectation of between 25,000 and 35,000 ounces.
The company also commented on its inclusion in the FTSE 250 Index as of Thursday.
"[T]his clearly validates our strategy of moving our listing from AIM to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and will open us up to inclusion in further index tracking funds and the commensurate impact on liquidity of indexation," Olafsson said.
