(Alliance News) - Alien Metals PLC on Tuesday said geophysical surveys have begun at its Elizabeth Hill silver project, as it noted completed heritage survey works by GreenTech Metals Ltd at Munni Munni.
The Australia-focused minerals exploration and development company said the geophysics programme will survey about 4 kilometres of the Munni Munni Fault Zone.
There, it will search for repeats of the high-grade Elizabeth Hill silver system, which historically produced 1.2 million ounces at 2,194 grams per tonne of silver.
Surveying has started at Elizabeth Hill South, where historic drilling returned 2 metres at 1,550 g/t silver and 1 metre at 250 g/t. Previous IP testing identified a chargeability response coincident with the Elizabeth Hill mineralised envelope, said the company.
Once the four week survey is completed data processing and modelling will identify potential silver 'pearls' drill targets.
Separately, Alien noted the completion of heritage survey work with the Ngarluma Traditional Owners by GreenTech Metals Ltd at the Munni Munni PGE-Cu-Ni project.
Drilling at Munni Munni will start immediately following site preparation, targeting extensions to shallow copper mineralisation at Ferguson Reef and high-priority copper targets along the basal contact of the Munni Munni intrusion.
Alien holds a 30% interest in Munni Munni and owns 30.5 million GreenTech shares, or about 10% of the company.
Alien Executive Director Vince Fayad called the heritage survey an "important milestone".
On September 29, Alien announced its H2 diamond drilling programme at the Elizabeth Hill Silver Project was scheduled to commence in early-to-mid October.
The programme would include 18 holes for about 1,800 metres, aiming to advance mineral resource definition, extension and new high-grade zone definition.
Shares in Alien Metals were up 7.7% to 0.060 pence per share on Tuesday afternoon in London.
