(Alliance News) - AJ Bell PLC on Thursday reported strong growth in customer numbers in the latest quarter, along with increased assets under administration and record net inflows.
The Manchester, England-based retail investment platform said customer numbers increased by 39,000 in the quarter that ended June 30, the third of its financial year, to close at 762,000, up 23% in the last year.
This included total advised customers up 6% on a year before and direct-to-consumer growth of 30%.
Assets under administration increased 26% on-year to GBP121.5 billion, with record gross and net inflows in the quarter.
Gross inflows in the quarter of GBP6.0 billion were up 50% versus GBP4.0 billion a year before, with net inflows of GBP3.0 billion, up 43% versus GBP2.1 billion.
Chief Executive Michael Summersgill said: "We have entered the final quarter with strong momentum. The UK platform market continues to benefit from structural growth drivers as more individuals take responsibility for their long-term financial futures. Our continued investment in brand and propositions, combined with the strength of our dual-channel strategy, positions us well to continue increasing our share of this fast-growing market."
Shares in AJ Bell were down 2.9% to 597.50 pence each in London on Thursday but have risen 15% in the past 12 months.
