African Battery Metals Identifies Copper Anomaly At Congo Project

7th Jun 2019 11:31

LONDON (Alliance News) - African Battery Metals PLC on Friday said it identified a 7 kilometre copper anomaly at its Kisinka copper-cobalt project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The company said that preliminary analysis of the project highlighted the copper anomaly. The firm will now conduct further testing over the next few weeks.

"The immediate identification of a copper anomaly related to the undifferentiated roan horizons passing through the length of our license was a welcome result at this early stage of analysis of the results of our sampling programme," Executive Director Paul Johnson said.

He added: "The potential significance of this large anomalous zone makes this a high priority prospect for the company. Initial exploration in 2018 had failed to pick up significant signs of any mineralisation, and so this appears to be a positive change in fortunes."

African Battery Metals shares were trading 5.6% higher at 0.42 pence each.
