LONDON (Alliance News) - Advanced Medical Solutions Group PLC said Thursday that it had received CE approval for its LiquiBand Fix 8 product, a skin adhesive device used for the attachment of surgical meshes to fix hernias.
The device can be used to deliver the adhesive within the body, to help reduce complications in surgery, patient experiences and healthcare costs.
It uses the company's existing LiquiBand range of adhesives for wound sealing.
The new device will be marketed and distributed in the second-half of 2014 by Advanced Medical Solutions direct sales teams in the UK and Germany, and distributor partners across the EU.
A CE mark approval indicates that the product is compliant with EU legislation, and can be freely sold within the European market.
Shares in Advanced Medical Solutions were trading up 1.1% at 116.22 pence Thursday morning.
