19th Aug 2020 13:11

(Alliance News) - Aberdeen Latin American Income Fund Ltd on Wednesday said it has appointed Howard Myles as a non-executive director.

He was hired after a search conducted by an independent recruitment consultancy, the firm said.

Myles is currently senior independent director of BBGI SICAV SA and also chair of JPMorgan Brazil Investment Trust PLC, from which he is due to retire on September 17.

"The directors are delighted to welcome Howard to the board. Howard brings a wealth of knowledge in relation to closed-end funds including experience of the Latin American region," Chair Richard Prosser said.

Shares in Aberdeen Latin American Income Fund were up 6.6% at 52.60 pence in London on Wednesday.
