Schroders PLC are a successful Global Asset Management company. They have around 114.7 billion currently under their management and retained 300 net million annually for their own company in 2007.

They are a firmly established financial company as they were founded as early as 1804 in London by Schroder and his brother. They had established the J Henry Banking Corporation and Commercial Bank by 1818 and soon began to grow. By 1960s they had acquired Herbert, Wage & Co. and had shares on the London Stock exchange.

There were some moves made to increase the financial worth of the company including selling their own bank to acquire 50% of mid-tier bank Wertheim & Co. By 1984 Schroders was worth 30 million but the investment banking division sold for a substantial 1.3 billion to Citigroup in 2000.

Schroders have ventured all over the world and have established themselves in many key areas over the globe enabling some strong financial footholds. This includes key dealings in Europe, Hong Kong, China and Japan, where there is financial strength and growth within these economies compared to the current trends in Britain.
