York Potash Project approvals update

The Directors of Sirius Minerals Plc (AIM: SXX, OTCQX: SRUXY) ("Sirius" or the "Company") hereby provide an update on the York Potash Project planning approval process.

The Company has discovered that the North York Moors National Park Authority ("NYMNPA" or "the Authority") has published on its website an Executive Summary of a "Commissioned Review" prepared by its consultants AMEC of the Company's Environmental Statement, which was submitted with the York Potash planning application.

The Company has not yet had time to review the statements individually with each of its specialist consultants to assess whether any of these observations are justified, but will be doing so in the coming days. On a preliminary review the report contains a number of negative statements which require careful consideration and are inconsistent with the recent removal of objections from the Environment Agency and no objections being submitted from the Highways Authority.
