Dairy Crest Group PLC13 January 2005 YOPLAIT DAIRY CREST TO CLOSE YEOVIL FACTORY Following consultation with key customers, Yoplait Dairy Crest, Dairy Crest'sfresh dairy products joint venture, has today announced plans to close itsfactory in Yeovil by June 2005, with the loss of approximately 260 jobs. Thesite currently manufactures own label dairy desserts for retailers. YoplaitDairy Crest has decided to focus its future activities on the development ofbranded products, such as Petits Filous, Frubes and Yop, which continue to showgood growth. The closure of Yeovil is expected to have a small benefit to Group profitabilityin the year ending 31 March 2006 and will result in an exceptional cost in theregion of £1.5 million in 2004/05, representing Dairy Crest's share of theclosure costs.
