Wood Group awarded engineering modifications contract HOUSTON, March 13, 2015 - Wood Group has been awarded a contract by Statoil, onbehalf of Gassco, for engineering modifications and upgrades to its Kollsnesprocess plant, west of Bergen, Norway. Estimated value of the contract,including options and procurement, is more than NOK500 million. Contract scope includes front-end engineering design, procurement andmanagement assistance to expand plant capacity and engineering, procurement andmanagement assistance (EPma) to update the electrical, instrumentation andcontrol systems. Wood Group Mustang Norway started work earlier this month onthe project, which will last through 2017. The Kollsnes plant processes natural gas from the Troll, Kvitebjørn and Visundfields in the North Sea and currently provides almost 40 per cent of Norwegiangas deliveries. These modifications will expand its capacity to accommodateincreased production from the Kvitebjorn platform in the North Sea. Whenmodifications are complete the Kollsnes facility will be one of the largest gasprocessing plants in the world, with capacity to process 144.5 million cubicmetres per day of gas, and will help to ensure the commitments Statoil has ofgas deliveries to Europe.
