APPOINTMENT OF JIM RENFROE AS GROUP DIRECTOR FOR WELL SUPPORT
ABERDEEN, 22 January, 2008 - John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group") is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Renfroe as Group Executive Director responsible for the Well Support division. Jim will join Wood Group on 28 January and will join the Board on 25 February 2008.
Prior to joining Wood Group, Jim had a 30 year career with Halliburton, most recently as Senior Vice-President, Strategy. In his time at Halliburton, Jim also led the Production Optimization and Fluids divisions and served in a number of roles with Otis Engineering.
Commenting on the appointment, Chief Executive Allister Langlands said, "We are delighted to have secured such a high-calibre appointment to lead our Well Support division. Jim has tremendous knowledge of our industry, a great depth of management experience, and a track record of growth in international well services businesses."

There are no disclosures as required by Rules 9.6.13 R (1) to (6) of the UK Listing Rules. Jim Renfroe does not have any interest in the shares of Wood Group.
