GREENE KING WITHDRAWS FROM ORCHID SALE PROCESS

Following market speculation that Greene King was involved in the sale process for Orchid, we can confirm that while we were involved in the process, we have now chosen to withdraw.

Rooney Anand, Greene King chief executive officer said: "We have decided to withdraw from the Orchid sale process as the transaction does not meet our strict acquisition criteria. Our successful retail expansion programme is, and remains, focused on improving shareholder value and delivering sustainable, long-term growth."
