Winter Orange Crop
Asian Citrus, the largest orange plantation owner and the single largest orange producer in China, announces that the total actual Winter Orange crop yield of the Group's two operational plantations was approximately 161,233 tonnes (2011: 171,607 tonnes), broadly in line with the tonnage indicated in the Winter Orange Crop Statement of 15 November 2012.
The actual Winter Orange crop from the Group's Hepu Plantation was approximately 32,838 tonnes in the current year. During the year ended 30 June 2012, 66,449 Winter Orange trees were removed and replanted with the same number of the Summer Orange trees resulting in this year's Winter Orange crop yield being 26.9% lower than in 2011 which is in line with the announcement made in November 2012.
The actual Winter Orange crop from the Group's Xinfeng Plantation increased from approximately 126,701 tonnes last year to approximately 128,395 tonnes in the current year, representing an increase of approximately 1.3%. The unstable weather and persistent heavy rainfall in 2012 limited the growth of this year's Winter Orange crop in the Xinfeng Plantation.
