WEEKLY OPERATIONS UPDATE - SABARMATI-1, GUJARAT, INDIA
Oilex Ltd is pleased to advise of progress on the pump installation operations at Sabarmati-1, onshore Gujarat, India.
Background - Sabarmati-1 is the sole producing well in the Sabarmati Production Sharing Contract. This well was the subject of a fluid influx study in 2006 which indicated that crude oil production could be increased on a sustainable basis to a rate higher than the current average of 2-5 barrels of oil per day with the installation of an hydraulic sucker rod pump.
Operations - Since last week's report, the John-50-VI workover rig set up at the Sabarmati-1 location and completed the installation of down hole and surface equipment preparatory to the installation of a pumping unit for this production well. The workover rig is currently moving off the Sabarmati-1 location and will return to Cambay-72 to prepare for the resumption of the flow testing program.
Operations Forecast - The pumping unit will be installed at Sabarmati-1 early this week and the well put on production. Well performance will be monitored and the pump adjusted to optimise the oil production rate from this well. Sand control and other essential equipment is being moved to the Cambay-72 well site for installation by the John-50-VI workover rig in preparation for the resumption of the test of the OS II sandstone.
