Nostra Terra Oil and Gas Company plc (AIM:NTOG) is pleased to announce that drilling has begun on the first horizontal well on the Vintage Hills prospect, in which the Company recently acquired a working interest of 1.2% before payout and 1.0% after payout.

Vintage Hills is located in Brazos County, Texas, within the established Giddings field. The current well is targeting one of four separate Austin Chalk reservoirs, known as the "Upper B" zone, that have been identified as oil-bearing by earlier vertical drilling within the prospect unit.

New Century Exploration, Inc. is operator of the well, which will be drilled vertically to a depth of approximately 10,400ft, followed by a horizontal section of up to 4,000ft.

Drilling and initial testing of the well is expected to take approximately 35 days, and the Company will make further announcements as the operations progress.
