Telecom Egypt S.A.E02 November 2006 Telecom Egypt Appoints Three New Vice Presidents Cairo, 2nd November, 2006: Telecom Egypt (TE) (Ticker: ETEL.CA; TEEG.LN)announced the appointment of Mohamed Elnawawy as Vice President of Internationaland Regulatory Affairs, Khaled Marmoush as Vice President of InformationTechnology and Sayed Dessouky as Vice President of Projects' Implementation.These appointments became effective as of October, 2006. Commenting on the appointments, Akil Beshir, Chairman of Telecom Egypt said: "This announcement comes at an important time for Telecom Egypt. Mohamed Elnawawy comes to Telecom Egypt from TE Data, the internet and datasubsidiary 95% owned by TE, where he has held the position of Chairman andManaging Director since 2001. Through August 2001 he consulted for Egypt'sMinistry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT), Egypt's NationalTelecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Telecom Egypt (TE) and others,participating in drafting the telecommunication law of 2003 and the design andimplementation of a new IS/PDN licensing framework. Elnawawy has authored andco-authored papers on telecommunications regulation and Internet governance, andholds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. Khaled Marmoush moves into the position of Vice President for InformationTechnology having previously held the position of Director of InformationTechnology at Telecom Egypt since October 2005. Marmoush has more than 20 yearsof experience in the areas of executive management, consulting, businessdevelopment and analysis, and project management. He has also worked withseveral international consulting and systems integration firms in Canada, Egypt,U.A.E, and the US. Marmoush holds a Masters in Information Science and aBachelors degree in Computer Science. Sayed Dessouky was appointed Vice President for Projects' Implementation havingpreviously worked in various managerial and technical positions within thecompany since 1973. These roles have included Director for Implementation andMaintenance for Upper Egypt since October 2001 and also General Manager forProject Implementation for National Calling exchanges.
