Verizon Wireless customers in greater Las Vegas can now accesse-mail, everyday corporate data, the Internet and more, all at fasterspeeds - and upload files up to nine times faster than before. £ Verizon Wireless is rolling out the next-generation of itshigh-speed broadband network in southern Nevada including: the LasVegas Strip, North Las Vegas, Lakes of Las Vegas, Green Valley,Henderson, Summerlin, Southern Highlands, Aliante and Spring Valley. £ Based on CDMA 1x Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision A (Rev.A) technology, the enhanced wireless broadband network providesVerizon Wireless customers with data uplink speeds significantlyfaster than the company's award-winning national EV-DO network. £ The company first launched its EV-DO network in southern Nevada inJuly 2004. This translates to being able to download a 1Megabyte e-mail attachment - the equivalent of a small PowerPoint(R)presentation or a large PDF file - in about eight seconds and uploadthe same-sized file in less than 13 seconds. £ Devices that take advantage of Verizon Wireless' enhanced Rev. Awireless broadband network include the new V740 ExpressCard, thecompact USB720 wireless modem, the AirCard 595 and PC5750 PC Card.
