Verizon Communications Reports on Preliminary Shareholder Vote Results at 2015Annual Meeting MINNEAPOLIS, May 7, 2015 -- Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ)has announced preliminary results of the shareholder vote at itsannual meeting here today. The company reported that a substantial majority ofthe shareholders approved the following management proposals: * Election of each of Verizon's 11 directors standing for election to a one-year term. * Ratification of the appointment of Ernst & Young as the company's independent registered public accounting firm. * Approval of the compensation of the company's executive officers as described in the 2015 proxy statement. All five shareholder proposals were defeated: network neutrality report,political spending report, severance approval policy, stock retention policyand shareholder right to act by written consent.
