8 March 2005 Ulster Television plc wins Ofcom Licence for new Belfast FM Radio Station Ulster Television plc ("UTV" or the "UTV Group") announces that it has beenawarded the new Ofcom FM radio licence for Belfast and the surrounding area, acatchment of 750,000 adults.UTV aims to have U105 on air by early 2006. It will be aimed primarily atadults aged 45 plus, providing a mixture of topical speech and a wide choice ofmusic.Roy Bailie, Chairman of U105 said: "We are absolutely delighted to win thislicence against stiff competition from local, national and international radiogroups."The radio station will inherit immediately the brand strength of UTV which ourresearch revealed will enhance early take-up and drive listener loyalty.
