Fourth Largest US Retailer Expands and Extends Long-time Use of Sterilox Systems
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA, AND STAFFORD, UK, 28 May 2009 - PuriCore plc (LSE: PURI), the life sciences company focused on developing and commercialising proprietary, green solutions that safely, effectively, and naturally disinfect and sanitise, today announces the company-wide implementation of Sterilox Food Safety Systems by one of the top-five US supermarket retailers, SUPERVALU (NYSE: SVU) (separate release issued by SUPERVALU available at www.puricore.com). This leading retailer integrated Sterilox Systems into many of its stores in 2005, and this expansion represents more than 200 additional Systems, which will be installed in the second half of this year.
Currently more than 30 US supermarket chains, including two of the five largest, use Sterilox Food Safety Systems. Retailers use the Sterilox Solution in their crisping (rehydrating), misting, cut fruit, bakery, and seafood programmes as a safe and natural protection to keep perishable foods safe and clean. Sterilox Solution is listed by the FDA for food contact and is listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute for organics.
