US EPA Proposed BugOil® Registration Decision
The Board of Plant Impact are pleased to announce that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has made available for public comment its proposed registration decision, including risk assessment and proposed product label, for Plant Impact's BugOil. Via this action (Docket Number EPA-HQ-OPP-2009-0822), the EPA has notified the public of its intention to register tagetes oil (a primary component of BugOil) as a new active ingredient in the United States for use on all food crops. Comments will be accepted from the public through a 30-day comment period ending 21 March 2012, and it is anticipated that a final registration decision will be issued by the EPA on or before 4 April 2012.
The docket can be viewed online at http://www.regulations.gov/#!docketDetail;D=EPA-HQ-OPP-2009-0822;dct=FR%252BPR%252BN%252BO%252BSR
BugOil is Plant Impact's plant essential oil technology that is effective against economically impactful insect and mite species. The product was initially submitted by the Company to the EPA for registration in late 2009, and it has been under review since that time. A proposed registration decision indicates the EPA's intention to issue a registration and invites public comment on the contents of the dossier.
Steve Adams, Director of Product Development for Plant Impact commented: "Today's news from the EPA means we are in the final stages of our US registration effort, and that a US registration is very likely to be received by early April. We are delighted to see that our many years of effort on the BugOil EPA registration will deliver a registered product into the market."
