Update
Following the announcement dated 26 June 2013, All Leisure group plc (ALLG) now estimates that, subsequent to the full on-board investigation, the net one-off cost to the company of cancelling Voyager cruises in May/June will be in the region of £1.6m. The Voyager re-entered service on the 25th June with the assistance of temporary generators. Work is continuing on schedule to build the new crankshafts in situ.
Recent trading in the cruise divisions continues to be challenging and this has been particularly impacted by events in Egypt. Regrettably it has been necessary to cancel Discover Egypt's Nile cruise programme following advice from the Foreign Office. On the assumption that the disruption continues throughout August, the company expects an additional shortfall of approximately £1.5m in the full year results.
The integration between the cruise division and tour operating division in Market Harborough has gone well and the Burgess Hill office was closed on the 31 May 2013. The cost to the company and the synergies outlined previously remain in line with expectations. Where previously the company had experienced later bookings, trading at this early stage of the financial year 2013/14 has started very well across all brands, with the exception of Discover Egypt, which has limited forward capacity. Sales for Voyages of Discovery are up 30%, Swan Hellenic 21%, Hebridean 19%, Travelsphere 23% and Just You 29%.
The company's interim results for the period to 30 April 2013 will be announced on Tuesday the 30 July 2013.
