Update to CEOL Application
CleanTech Lithium PLC (AIM: CTL, Frankfurt: T2N), an exploration and development company focused on advancing sustainable lithium projects in Chile, confirms that it has formally submitted an appeal (the "Appeal") regarding the recent decision by the Government of Chile not to admit the Laguna Verde project into the streamlined procedure for a Special Lithium Operating Contrast ("CEOL"), as referenced in the Company's announcement dated 23 April 2025.
The Appeal has been submitted in accordance with the timeline set out by the Chilean Government. CleanTech Lithium anticipates a response from the authorities by the end of May or early June 2025 and will update the market as soon as further information becomes available.
If the Appeal is not successful the Company will enter what is expected to be a short public tender process.
Ignacio Mehech, Chief Executive Officer, CleanTech Lithium PLC said: "CleanTech remains confident that our CEOL application for the Laguna Verde project can meet the criteria established by the Government to enter the streamlined process and will be supporting our Appeal in the near future with an ongoing dialogue with relevant stakeholders.
We are pleased that we retain the ongoing support of many parties in Chile who believe the early advancement of this project is in accordance with the National Lithium Strategy and will, as a result, deliver many benefits for the various stakeholders in Chile and internationally."
