Update on Zinc Processing Plant in Turkey

· Work on environmental impact assessment study progressing well

· Technical test work to commence soon

Alexander is pleased to announce that, further to the announcement on 21 February 2018 regarding a commercial and technical partnership agreement ("Agreement") with Proses Mühendislik, Danışmanlık, İnşaat ve Tasarım AS. ("Proses"), significant progress has been made by Proses for establishing a zinc plant in Turkey.

Under the Agreement, Proses has been investigating and progressing plans in Turkey for the establishment of a semi industrial scale processing plant ("SISP") using Alexander Mining's patented AmmLeach® technology for processing lower grade zinc oxide ores. The initiative is complemented by the granting of a core patent in Turkey, announced in early May 2019, for zinc silicate leaching, which comprises a significant proportion of non-sulphide (or 'zinc oxide') zinc ores targeted for processing in the SISP.

Proses has started preparation of an environmental impact assessment ("EIA") report for environmental permission. A preliminary EIA report has been prepared and is expected to be submitted to the Ministry of Environment in a few weeks. Following the submission of the preliminary report, the Ministry of Environment will organize a series of meetings with participation of relevant government and non-governmental departments and set up the requirements and format for the final EIA report. The whole procedure is expected to be completed towards the end of 2019.

At the same time, feasibility technical test work, with input from Alexander based on its positive significant prior test work on the region's characteristic zinc oxide ores, for the SISP are to start soon. This work will be carried out in an independent laboratory in Ankara, Turkey for the leaching of low grade zinc oxide ores and solvent extraction in order to produce suitable electrolyte for electro winning of zinc. The test work is expected to take around 4 months.

Martin Rosser, CEO, said: "We are delighted with this excellent news and the swift progress made by our partners Proses and greatly appreciate its hard work and efforts to reach this exciting point. We very much look forward to working together on the next stages."
