Update on gTLD application timetable
The Internet's governing body, ICANN, had intended to publish those applications which ICANN considered complete and ready for evaluation by the end of April. As has been widely reported in the media, ICANN suspended its on-line application system on 12 April due to a technical glitch in the application platform through which applicants have to file their applications. As a result, based on information released by ICANN, some 105 applications of the 2091 received by 12 April had been affected. ICANN is currently completing the process of notifying applicants impacted by the glitch. Once completed, ICANN plans to announce the schedule for reopening the application system and completing the application period shortly thereafter. As at the date of this announcement, TLDH has received no notifications from ICANN that any of its applications, or those of its clients, have been affected by the glitch. Updates on the application window are available from ICANN's website at http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/applicants/tas/interruption-updates.
